I have been looking for a BANS alternative for a while. Have used BANS and PHP bay on over 100 sites with great results. The thing is though that wordpress and bans sites take a while to set up. I found this to be a great alternative. I have a review here you can see for yourself.
<a href="http://www.ideasandmoney.info/">Review</a>.

Hope this contributes to the discussion here. Thanks.

I purchased BANS about 01 month ago, and got $100 from it.
It´s great, it works very well! Look at my site:

My site got hammered by Google at the end of June, so July's traffic pretty much died. I'd made it to the second page of Google for my main term when the bottom fell out.

Slowly coming back, but it'd be nice to know what the hell caused it. I've looked at one competitors site and wondering what the trick is.

Hardly any content, only a few inbound links, and those are totally unrelated. The only thing I see is that site is 6 months old which isn't really old.

I'll keep you updated.

Back again for another update.

I haven't made any serious money yet with my Bans site yet, but I sure learned a lot by buying that software.

Between the videos on Marks site and the Bans forum and a lot of keyword research my pages for my main keywords are on the 2nd page of Google, and thats out of 12,000,000 competing pages.

Another of my terms is on page one, but that's only out of 159,000 competing pages.

I also just showed up on page one of Yahoo for my main terms again. Number 6 out of 15,000,000.

When I first started this, I read so many different theories on how to dominate a niche. Some said to start easy and go after only the keywords with 1,000 competing pages. Others said 10,000 and under, and yet others said under 1,000,000.

I thought I'd never be able to place anywhere close to the first three pages of Google if I was competing with 1,000,000 pages.

Now, after what I've learned, those numbers don't scare me any more.

I still have a lot to learn as far as making my site look professional, but I'll just keep working on it till I get it right.

Bye for now!

Hi Again,

I'm back and have been tweaking my descriptions, adding some content, and trying to keep Google happy at the same time, but that's driving me nuts.

I make these subtle changes to help my rankings, and every time I dom it seems like I get penalized. Maybe I haven't given it long enough, but I've looked at sites that seem to be straight out of the box and they're higher in the search engines.

Again, I'm concentrating on content now, but hopefully by this time next week I'll start dressing it up a little because it looks plain Jane to me too.

Bye for now!
Mike

Hi There,

I'm new to Bans and put up my first site a little over a week ago. It's still pretty much plain Jane, but I'm tweaking it daily and hopefully it'll look better in a weeks time.

If you're new to creating your own store and have no idea of what php, rss, seo etc..., you'll learn a lot. I learn a little something every day to make my store more visible to the search engines and hopefully it'll start paying off down the road.

Here's my first site..http://www.bestmetaldetectordeals.com
Check back in a week to see the changes I made.

I have a couple of "Poor Man's BANS" sites and I must say that it works pretty slick. there are a couple of bugs I would like to work out to fully automate the system, but overall I am happy with results that I didn't have to put any money towards to get.

If I am not mistaken, the BANS and phpPro update automatically as long as there are auctions, right? With the poor mans BANS it just keeps adding posts if there are auctions. I think that might be one difference that I can see (I haven't tried BANS yet at this point).

Good work on all the above sites, too.
